Home Treatment For Acne - Fast And Effective

Home Treatment For Acne
Most home treatment for acne involves over-the-counter products that can be purchased at most local drug stores, hypermarkets or superstores. And, last year, in the United States alone, more than US$1 billion were spent on hone treatment for acne! So, what is it that we’re all buying - and does it really help?

1) Tonics:
One of the most popular home treatment for acne is the tonic. This comes in a liquid form and is applied using cotton wool.

Very good for cleansing and cleaning pores, this acne treatment has been a proven seller for decades and does appear to help in the battle against acne.

The only downside that might be argued against the use of tonics is that they do not appear to penetrate deep enough into our skin to clean anything aside from the top layer. For this reason they’re more commonly used in conjunction with another type of acne treatment.

2) Soaps:
A fairly recent home treatment for acne is the acne preventing soap. It must be said that the acne-busting soap has questionable merit, as in most cases the best form of soap you can use to help combat acne is a chemical-free soap – which acne preventing soaps rarely aren't.

Nonetheless, they’re popular; and used sparingly in conjunction with other home treatment for acne products, there should be no reason why you shouldn't use them, unless you have an allergy to the chemical compound of the soap.

If this is the case, you should avoid soap as an acne treatment as this will only compound your problems.

3) Gels:
Becoming more popular as a home treatment for acne are gels. Today it is possible to find some gels that act in a way to encourage the skin to shed, thereby causing fresh, new skin to develop, and hopefully avoiding whiteheads and blackheads.

4) Creams:
Along with tonics, creams are one of the most popular forms of home treatment for acne.

Using the creams correctly in conjunction with the tonics means that the acne cream can be used as a moisturizer once you have finished the tonic application process. Doing this allows you a way of making sure your acne treatment can penetrate deep into the layers of your skin to help break-down any build-up of bacteria beyond the surface layer of your skin.

Successful home treatment for acne, however, will likely involve using a combination of all of these products.
