Mild acne scars scar treatment can be as simple as microdermabrasion. This procedure removes the outer layers of the skin allowing new skin to grow. This new skin will be scar free and softer.

The microdermabrasion treatment is administered by applying the solution to the face and then gently  "sanding" or resurfacing the skin with a special rough textured implement. This procedure is effective in ninety percent of patients.

The side effects of microdermabrasion scar treatment are sensitive skin, pain, swelling and irritation. These side effects are usually short term though.

Another type of acne scar treatment is laser therapy. This type of therapy uses a laser to deliver blue light to the acne to kill the bacteria that causes the acne.

Plus, there are no known side effects to laser therapy and it only takes three to six treatments to see results. The downside to this therapy is the cost. Each treatment can cost up to five hundred dollars.
